Due to increasing government intrusion into aspects of everyday life as a result of the rise of the welfare state and subsequent transition into neo-liberal government throughout the latter part of the 20th century, the public sphere has, in Habermas’ view, become entangled with elements of representational culture of authority, which have sought to utilize the public sphere to garner public opinion to support various partisan political agendas.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.
If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.
