Superluminal wrote:The Imus debacal has hurt business at my job. We sell electrical supplies, and one of our biggest customers was an Imus fan. We sell GE breakers and transformers. He has quit buying from us and told all the electricians that work for him not to get anything from us if they can get it at another store.

So, who do I thank for that, Imus, Jackson or Sharpton?

Can you elaborate how GE or you are tied into all this in your customer's eyes (or do I need to read back a few pages)?

I'm guessing, but doesn't GE own NBC? And MSNBC was one of Imus' outlets. But tying that to someone who sells GE products seems [strike]a bit[/strike] way over the top to me.

That's it, the GE-NBC connection.

And they're protesting what? That MSNBC dropped Imus? Is it a pro-Imus protest? And if it isn't you might want to mention to them that it sure looks that way.

I don't think that that's necessarily a bad thing. While I think that MSNBC was within it's rights to drop Imus and certain individuals were within their rights to call for a boycott, but I also think that free speech goes both ways.

Its the MSNBC thing. He has even said that he has banned MSNBC from his home entertainment center. It hasn't killed business entirely. We still have some other pretty big customer's, plus lots of nickel and dime customers. But if things keep going the way they are, the next profit sharing check will be a little smaller than usual.

There goes that big donation I going to make to "Llance's Llama Farm."

So he really is protesting for Imus? They're angry they cancelled him?
