In Loving Memory of my friend Nicholas Sharp II.....

Postby St. Jimmy » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:53 pm

Nick, I will miss you till I get to see you in heaven! I will miss playing basketball at the park with you. Actually playing basketball at the park in general. You were the only person who would let me play, nick. Thanks for that. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me when I was depressed or just had something to say, even though I am 4 years younger than you. Even though we weren't super close friends, we were still friends. How's heaven? I bet it's nice. Can't wait till I get there and see my favorite basketball player at the park.
Missing you much,
Ducky

The following comes from the little paper they give you at funerals about the person:

In memory of Nicholas Dale Sharp II (Age 19)
Date of birth: Sat. July 12, 1986
Date of death: Thur. April 13, 2006

Funeral service:
Purse Funeral Home
Adrian, Michigan
Wednesday, April 19. 2006
2:00pm

Officiating:
Rev. Samuel Bond

Final Resting Place:
Oak Grove Cemetery
Morenci, Michigan

Nick is survived by his mother and father, Nick and Dori Sharp of Morenci; Three brothers, Mathew Stanley of Hudson, Steven Stanley of Morenci, and David Hinds of Minnesota; Two sisters, Jessica and Katie Sharp of Morenci; his grandparents; His many aunts and uncles; Numerous cousins; and his girlfriend Ashleigh Sloan of Morenci.

He passed away, sadly, by hanging himself.....    This, by far, made the funeral sadder than it should have been... It was found that he had tried to save himself because there were downwards fingernail scratches on his neck.

At the burial they released a white dove, and the dove flew around the entire cemetery for 5 minutes. It was beautiful. I still can't believe he passed...Wow, I haven't cried this much for two years! Well that's all I have the say at this moment.

Missin my friend Nick Sharp II,
Ducky

I am terribly sorry Jimmy, my condolences...

Was foul play involved? You say hung himself but he tried to save himself? Sounds fishy...

Sorry to hear this, St. Jimmy. It must suck big time.

Dragon Star, last minute changes of mind in this situation are not so uncommon. In this case, it came a little too late though...

Sorry about your friend St. Jimmy. It is very hard to lose someone close to you in such an unexpected way. May God rest his immortal soul with the comfort of the angels.
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.

That's so sad, St. Jimmy. We're really sorry for the loss of your friend.

I know how it feels to bury a good friend who died far to young. It sucks.

I'm sorry to hear this Jimmy, my best wishes to you. There are few enough friends in this world, and to lose one this young is very sad.

Thanks for your support and sympathy guys. I really appreciate it a lot. Because I am still a bit depressed and counfused right now, I am going to take a short break from the forum. Probably something like 2-3 days break. I guess I'll post on a couple game threads and see you all in a few days.

I'm sorry to hear this Jimmy. Take care and take what time you need. Come back when you're ready.

As for the last minute change of mind. This is very common. my wife runs a support group for people who have lost a child. We lost our 5 month old daughter in '99 and she hears a lot from people who have lost a child through suicide and every one showed signs of changing their mind at the last minute. It's sad that they don't do this a bit sooner though.

Taking a break is good. Don't take my comments on religion too seriously, as I do appreciate your feelings for your friend. I just have a tendency to be a bit too blunt in my opinions.

You have our deepest sympathy St. Jimmy.

Take the time you need, but please know that we all care about you.
So hurry back to your friends here at I-R-U.

I find it interesting what Nighthawk said about the last minute mind change. I heard once that a survey was done on people who had jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide, and had lived. Amazingly, each person that jumped, as they fell, they realized that every problem in their life could be fixed…. except this one.

Well, in case it hasn't been noticed I have been back since the 21st. I am doing much better now. And sorry i I seemed rude to anyone or stuff like that. I was upset. But I read a good book (that's waht helps me when I am depressed) and thought about things, and I am glad to report that, although I am still sad a little bit, I am a lot better. Thanks for all your sympathy, kind words, and support!
