Hmmmm, I think you may be right.

I'm So Sick is a pretty good song

Bicycle Race by Queen: I think its about Tour de France.
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.

Are there rules per se to this game?

I can't help but think that Angel by Sarah McLachlan is about suicide. :(

I do believe that Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive is about sitting on the toilet.

How about the song I just renamed the forum after, Baba O'Riley?

What he hell is that about?

The Who wrote:Out here in the fields
I fought for my meals
I get my back into my living
I don't need to fight
To prove I'm right
I don't need to be forgiven

Don't cry
Don't raise your eye
It's only teenage wasteland

Sally, take my hand
Travel south cross land
Put out the fire
And don't look past my shoulder
The exodus is here
The happy ones are near
Let's get together
Before we get much older

Teenage wasteland
It's only teenage wasteland
Teenage wasteland
Oh, yeah
Teenage wasteland
They're all wasted!

It's probably just about Sally, but he ran out of material so he started rambling on about...well...whatever he is rambling on about...

Are you familiar with the song? It might be one of those you don't recognize until you hear it.

Baba O'Riley

(Let it play. It takes about 40 seconds to get to the parts you'll know if you're not already familiar with it.)

When I heard it on the radio I was sure it was an early '90s song. The actual year of release took me by surprise.

I have a few ideas what it's about, but then again when people interpret a song that doesn't have a clear meaning, they then to interpret it to how they are feeling at that time or past expirances, etc. So for a song like this the only person who will ever really know what it's about is Pete Townshend.

That's about right. Everything old is new again. The Who are on a world tour right now.

Umop, you don't hang around with old people enough :P

See Summer of Sam if you haven't already. The song is Richie's favorite (in the film - I don't know whether it is Adrien Brody's favorite or not). . .

Hmmm, that's a tough choice. . . But I think All The Young Dudes which was written by Bowie and performed by Mott The Hoople could be about you, too. I think he meant to write All the Young Shoes :)

Voices Carry by Til Tuesday is about being in an abusive relationship. :( (Actually that one's obvious just from the video.)

For those who haven't seen the video, I'll include a spoiler:
I love how she gets her revenge at the end!
In Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer, it sounds like she's singing to another woman, in particular the lyrics "you wear those shoes and I wear, wear that dress" and "bring your flowered hat".

I'd like everyone to go through the lyrics of "I'm a Little Teapot" in their heads once or twice.

Okay, done that? Now, this is crucial, think about how suggestive some of those lines are.

The movie She's All That has been on TV a lot lately, and I don't know if Kiss Me was written for it, but it lilts through the movie. It is also associated with Dawson's Creek, but I never watch that. I'd rather drink Maple Syrup.

I thought the group was a CHristian music group, which pretty much precludes homosexual themes.

Kiss Me

Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress.

[Chorus:]
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So kiss me

Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map

[Chorus (repeat)]

It would seem you thought right - in fact, even their name is a reference to their faith.

Oh well.
