Former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez Monday was sentenced in Los Angeles Superior Court to 60 days in jail for probation violation.

Reading the sanctions stemming from the actress' December drunken driving arrest, Judge Rex Heeseman also ordered her to complete 30 days in rehab and extended her probation by two years, People magazine reported.

Following the sentencing, Rodriguez and her lawyers left the courthouse without speaking to waiting journalists.

Rodriguez recently spent time in a jail in a Hawaiian jail for a Dec. 1 drunken driving conviction. Prosecutors in Los Angeles said that conviction violated the terms of her January 2004 probation for two separate traffic incidents in 2003.

The character Rodriguez played on the popular ABC show "Lost" was recently killed off.

UPI News Service, 05/30/2006

Actress Michelle Rodriguez was released from her two-month term at the Los Angeles County Jail after only a few hours because of crowded conditions.

The former star of ABC TV's "Lost" reported to the jail to serve her sentence for probation violation Thursday, only to be released four hours and 20 minutes later, People magazine reported Tuesday.

"Needless to say, our prosecutors are not happy about this," a city attorney spokesperson told the magazine. "But the sheriffs have a policy to let some non-violent offenders go early, in part due to jail overcrowding."

Rodriguez, 27, celebrated her release at the Tropicana Bar Thursday night, the magazine said.

She was sentenced May 22 two 60 days in jail for getting arrested for drunken driving in Hawaii while on probation for a Los Angeles DUI.

Her character was killed off the hit ABC TV show toward the end of the season.

She remains on probation for two more years and is still liable for 30 hours of community service, People said.
