Ouch, meaningless game for us tomorrow but a relegation six pointer for RCC against the bottom team.
Get it up ye.

This is a crucial match for us. If anybody has a lucky Ross County shirt, now is the day to deploy it. Alas, mine appears to be faulty of late.

The wheels of the Universe have turned such that Greuther, already unlikely to be relegated directly (6 pts. above Ulm with two matches to go, and they're travelling to Hamburg tonight), are still above the death zone. Following Braunschweig's crushing at the hands of Elversberg, we remain in 15th, 0 points and now eight goals above the relegation spot.

However, the wheels of the Universe have also turned such that Braunschweig are at home to Deä Glubb in the final round next week. That is a problem because Nuremberg have nothing to gain or lose anymore and may not feel particularly inclined to strain their collective muscle in order to help the local derby rival to stay in the League. And we have the away game against Hannover (tomorrow) and the final home game against almost-certain-to-be-promoted Hamburg in front of us. I really don't know where the points should be coming from. So the playoff spot is probably going to be ours. Aaand, just FYI, the last four relegations playoffs were all won by the third-Leaguer, so...

Update: Hamburg have just secured promotion to the Bundesliga after seven dark years in the basement, thrashing Ulm, 6 - 1. Good for the family, and it means direct relegation is off the table for Greuther. Let's hope Hamburg are still hungover from the ensuing party when they visit Fürth next Sunday.

20 min in, under mounting pressure, but still goalless. I'll take a goalless draw any time, as this would mean Braunschweig actually have to win it next Sunday.

SV Hannover 96 1 - 1 SpVgg Greuther Fürth

That was a scary ride. Hannover equalised in the 87th (with a header after a corner, just like us before), and I felt really badly treated by the Wheels of the Universe. But then they even scored the winner, and I was having aggression control issues. You won't believe what happened next: The VAR disallowed a late winner against us. I know it sounds crazy, but that's what happend. Now Braunschweig have to win it, and deä Glubb has to take it upon themsellves to actually lose away to the 16th of the table in the last game of the season.

Your move, Universe.

Played 172, won 68, drawn 38, lost 64.

Ah, that'll be to balance the Wheels - we had an extremely important late equaliser yesterday chalked off after VAR.

Dang, so the Universe is already even with us poor sods. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
ETA: A minor point in our favour: With this draw, we are now in 14th, and we have two teams below us, with one point less each. BUT Münster have the better GD and they play away to the team (Ulm) that was just relegated this weekend. So still,

Well spotted, was my typo on our result. Should be:

Played 173, won 71, drawn 39, lost 64.

Hah, sorry - I didn't realise you'd already corrected and I corrected mine, based on yours, so added a win. Generally, I've tended not to bother the win counter much of late.

So:

Played 173, won 70, drawn 39, lost 64

Dundee 1 - 1 Ross County

Unusually, a dodgy penalty decision well into acded time was in our favour (and scored). We need to beat Motherwell on Sunday and hope Dundee lose if we're to avoid the play-offs. This is a very unlikely combination of results. Still, we now can't finish in the automatic relegation spot.

Played 175, won 71, drawn 40, lost 64.
