The film is set where this frame was was shot, but the name Gdánsk does, if memory serves, not appear in the film.

Neither Gdańsk nor Danzig? (Not that I can think of a movie with either in the title!)

I only mentioned Gdánsk, and I didn't limit my observation to the title... :-

So it's Günter Grass?

The film isn't by Günter Grass, no.

But it might be based on a book which Grass wrote. Just like the 2022 film All Quiet on the Western Front wasn't by Remarque.

Aha! A little research reveals that there was - I think we should give it to Mactep. The Tin Drum film might have been written by Schlöndorff, Carrière and Seitz, but Günter Grass wrote the book on which it was based. Which I see was indeed set in what was then Danzig.

The Tin Drum. (tin being metal last I checked ;) )
Set in the Free City of Danzig, which is why Arneb said there was no mention of 'Gdansk'. Bringing attention to that was a good clue. :)

No ideas from me either - is the film set in LA, or does the building stand in as something i, say, Noo Yoik or Shuckawgo?

IIRC scenes from Blade Runner were shot in the Bradbury Building.
