We live in the old folks home, and there is safety for all stuff all over. Hand rails in the hallways, overhead sprinkler system everywhere. Smoke detectors in the apartments and halls. Did I mention smoke detectors?

Wife is cooking some bacon to go with her god knows what egg creation. Smoked the pan, and this PIERCING MEEP MEEP MEEP goes on for minutes on end. Fortunately we didn't trigger the hallway sensors or the fire department would have to respond. As it was we had to call into the building management service. Assure them there was no fire. Then the local guy had to call us and verify no fire was happening. And of course a local guy has to show up. We just had that visit at our door.

Got the fan going and windows open, though we can't open the door to the hall for through ventilation as that might trigger the building alarms.

Cats are freaking out. MEEP MEEP MEEP.


Wring is now enjoying a plate full of something with bacon in it.

the bacon wasn't even burnt!!!!

I knew he was gonna post about this.

I note that he didn't post about the times he's set the damn thing off.



and if he'd cooked like he was gonna, I wouldn't have been in the kitchen at all.
