Gibson files bankruptcy

I never played rhe guitar beyond the uncool three-chord stage on a bad classical instrument, bzt I totally get why this must be a sad day for a lot of people.

I read they are working on a restructuring plan

Seems like they overextended their many corporate fingers into too many diversification pies, and couldn't afford the cost of rationalisation of their newly acquired overseas interests.

Sounds more like restructuring than 'going under' from what I've read. They are ditching their 'gibson innovations' division (electronics, software, etc.) to return their focus to Gibson and Epiphone musical instruments.
Can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
