Typical of the English political classes that they are ignoring the third largest party at Westminster when they talk of an interim PM. The largest party that is unequivocally Remain.

A very good point - and given Jo Swinson's background, she bloody well should have realised. But, sadly, large and pro-Remain though the SNP are, we still need the Lib Dems to get the numbers. Particularly with Change UK and the Tory champions of Remain saying that if it's a choice between Corbyn and No Deal, then No Deal it will have to be. Never mind, at least it's one more step towards Indyref 2. And I hope that an independent Scotland's can be allowed to join the EU with Serbia et al ratther than being made to wait.

If things evolve that way, I expect Scotland will get a far warmer reception at the EU than they would have if the last independence referendum had succeeded.

No more than she would need the SNP. There is a small but substantial minority in the SNP who would see a No Deal go through as it should hurry along independence.

Given Swinson’s history as a proven idiot and habitual liar, I doubt she has the gumption for much. An ideal Lib Dem leader.

Aaand another Fuck You, We're the Empire moment form Bojo, writing that we should simply pretend there is no border and off with the backstop now or else. But yes, of course we want a deal. Just one We like ...better.

Yes, we don't need to suggest anything or have any actual ideas, just make it better. It's almost as if BoJo is stalling until we crash out with no deal.

But he wouldn't do that, now would he? OTOH, it might be a good idea to show those Euroweasels what can happen to them if Britain loses her patience and actually follows through with No Deal. If nothing else, it'll teach them.

If it is, they are moving towards their goal with clear determination.

BoJo actually said on TV yesterday that "we" need some more patience because as long as Parliament is in the way inisisting on no No-Deal, Europe isn't going to blink. They will come along eventually.

I remember J-C Juncker saying they live in a parallel Universe up there on Downing Street. I'm starting to believe he was right.

The UK gov has based its entire negotiating strategy on this, and hoping that the EU are as dumb as those folks.

A lot of our political classes live in a parallel universe. There are still calls from opponents to No Deal for legislation to be tabled to stop it rather than a vote of no confidence. What part of "the EU will only agree to a further extension in order to allow an election or a 2nd referendum" do they not understand? Which is why only a change of government, even for a short-term caretaker government, will do.

Another separate reality shown by many is what a Corbyn government would actually mean. (Similar fears expressed by the US right towards AOC et al.) OK, Corbyn has a Marxist background. But Arneb,I and possibly others in this group saw up close what a Communist state looks like. How anyone thinks that is what Corbyn has in mind is beyond me!

The hearing at the Court of Session is over, judgement to be given tomorrow. If, and it is an if, the judge thinks he has jurisdiction then he pretty much has to grant the interim interdict. Courts always try to maintain the status quo pending a full hearing.

I don't get Ruth Davidson's "Boris is trying to get a deal" line. I mean, she's going home, she doesn't care for him much, why bother to pretend that he's doing the exact opposite of what he's actually doing?

Par for the course for Roof the Moof. She’s built her career on lies and hypocrisy, aided and sheltered by a supportive media.

The judge in the Court of Session has declined to grant an interim interdict against the prorogation of parliament. Which is bad, but, he didn't throw it out so he thinks it is a legitimate application. He has declined it as there is to be a full hearing before the prorogation was to take effect so the interdict wouldn't actually do anything. The applicants could appeal but the full hearing has been brought forward to Tuesday so there would be little point. Those seeking the interdict want to put BoJo on the stand to see what he'll say under oath. Despite appearances BoJo isn't very smart and doesn't think quickly under pressure, he hides that behind education but he is easily rattled.

What is this?
..Ben Wallace, the defence secretary...

I realize that 'Benjamin' and 'Wallace' is a very popular name/surname, but that does amuse me somewhat, as there was a player in the NBA by the same name. What's more is that he was a defensive specialist, and won the league Defensive Player of the Year award some four different times in the early and mid-oughts. Looks like turnovers might be the downfall of the Englishman, however.

Anyway, right decent of them to postpone it until after the American holiday.
