At the Edinburgh tattoo this year,
the Singapore Police Force Womens' Pipes and Drums.
You didn't even know they had a police force, did you?
I imagine they have pipers for the same reason everyone else does.

They carry some fairly impressive pieces of artillery around the airport. Singapore has most of the government institutions that other countries have, and some that others don't:

Probably, but for some of the other members of the forum who may not be aware, maybe you should mention what that reason is.

I'm guessing the Singapore Police were founded by a Scot. The same reason many (most?) Indian, Pakistani and Bagaladeshi regiments have pipers. See also HK Police, large tracts of Canuckistan, RSA, Oz, NZ, Brunei, and FSM knows where else.
