Vintage Whiskey May Be Poured Out

Postby KLA2 » Fri Nov 16, 2007 1:57 am

Hundreds of bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey, some of it almost 100 years old, may be unceremoniously poured down a drain because authorities suspect it was being sold by someone without a license.

Sad. By law, (some of it) cannot simply be sold at auction. (How about contributing it to the Legion?}

Yahbut...the article said that whiskey kept in bottles that long isn't really very good anymore, anyway.

Any reason why this whiskey can't be poured down the drain... into an elaborate plumbing system that funnels the stuff over to the nearest bar for a free, not-for-profit 100-year-old-whiskey-appreciation happy hour?

I don't get it; Tennessee ABC suspects that it was being sold without a license? Aren't these bottles innocent until proven guilty? Surely the good Jack Daniels deserves his well-aged day in court before being unceremoniously dumped down the drain?

If they give it to me, I promise I will put it through a complex biological process that will rearrange its very molecules into an unrecognizable form, before putting it down the drain. Much safer! :D

Yes, I, too, will subject myself to this experiment. For the good of all mankind!

Or was that just a rash remark? :wink:

Sounds like a clear case of alcohol abuse.
