Tom Snyder - no Bergman, but...

Hey, he's no Ingmar Bergman, hell he's not even a Jules Bergman, and certainly no Jules Verne. Maybe a cut above Hey Vern. And definitely a cut above Len Berman. But he was a character, and now he's gone too.

He had The Clash on his show and they debuted "Radio Clash" there. He gets extra points for that, plus the fact that he had REM and many, many others on way before they were recognized by mainstream radio, etc. Hell, he had the Plazmatics on (I believe) twice! Erm ... no points for that, but just the fact that he did that says the guy had a twisted sense of what to broadcast!
