Algae and Lemon Cocktails

The City of Aurora, IL wrote:Tap Water Update
Increased algae in the Fox River are causing some City of Aurora residents to notice a change* in the normal taste and odor of their tap water. Aurora’s water treatment plant is continuously monitoring and adjusting the treatment process to minimize the effects of the algae. In addition, as the number of algae in the river decreases, the taste and odor should improve. While the tap water is perfectly safe to drink, residents may continue to experience an unusual taste or odor for a period of time as the affected water passes through the distribution system.

* A change? This crap tastes like sewer sludge.

Lemon seems to kill it though, and I didn't notice it in my morning coffee.

Ick. Oh, well, at least (I hope) you aren't smelling chlorine like I do in my city's water.

No, never. The other half of our water comes from Lake Michigan.

And I must say, this is the best "city water" I've ever had anywhere. I grew up on well water on Long Island, NY, which is as clean and tasteless as it gets. Water filtered through all that glacial debris gets pretty darn clean.

The water here is generally almost as good as that.

We have well water here. Years ago a geologist told me that we live on top of an underground river that flows down from the Great Lakes to the Gulf. Our water tastes great, we may be drinking the same water you have.

Water is the source of all life. Seventy percent of the Earth's surface is covered with water. Why, do you realize that seventy percent of YOU is water? You and I need fresh, pure water to replenish our precious bodily fluids.

Christ, this is worse then when the Government was putting Fluoride in the water! Good thing they stopped doing that and controlling our minds...

You can have all the water. Yuck! I'll take limeade, club soda, cranberry juice, milk, sports drinks, but absolutely no water. :P

A nice tall glass of tonic with a lime in it doesn't suck.

Sure doesn't. For that matter, add grapefruit juice and various kinds of booze to my list. I like strong stuff.

Well, I'd rather believe I'm drinking water from the Great Lakes, than the sludge from the paper mill.

Our water is pretty much back to normal now. It may have a bit of a taste to it, but it's a lot better.

Not to be confused with Lily Pons.
