Iran and Pakistan are wanging missiles at one another. Relation between the two tend to be ok despite the whole Shia - Sunni thing but this can't be good.

Once upon a time, Enzo told a joke about the 'Sunni & Shia' thing (say it with a New York accent). I wish I could remember it, something to do with their hit "I Got You Babe".

Humour aside, it does seem like things are really heating up over there, on way too many fronts.

Ha! That has just been shamelessly stolen.

Yes, they bump along as they hate other people more but cross border incursions are getting more serious.

Plenty of jiggery-pokery in Pakistan today as there are national elections and a regional one as well. It is worth remembering that no elected Prime Minister has ever finished their term, usually arrested for corruption or deposed by the military. And yet they still manage to have political dynasties, the head of the Pakistan People's Party for example:
"Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was born at the Lady Dufferin Hospital in Karachi, Sindh, on 21 September 1988 to former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and her husband, former President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari. He is the maternal grandson of former president and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his wife Nusrat Bhutto. His paternal grandfather, Hakim Ali Zardari, was a politician and a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. From his mother's side, he is the nephew of politicians Murtaza Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto, and from his father's side, his aunts are politicians Azra Peechoho and Faryal Talpur. Politician Ghinwa Bhutto is his aunt by marriage."

Oh the japes; the party in power who are backed by the army got a caning from Imran Khan's mob despite Khan being in prison, his party effectively being banned and them being prevented from using their election symbol which is essential in largely illiterate rural areas. A cricket bat, unsurprisingly.

Oh noes! Maybe the election wasn't kosher, in a manner of speaking.
