Happy 50th, Sesamstraße

On January 5, 1973, the first episode of Sesamstraße, an adapted version of the American original with a lot of unique material, aired in Germany. I was four, and became an avid fan.

I've never actually watched any of the "international" versions, believe it or not. I should check that out.

Arneb - did I tell you I got to meet Caroll Spinney? Sarah said it's the only time she's ever seen me at a loss for words. Just so cool to be in his presence. He came over to my friend's booth and played with her puppets, too (and we stupidly didn't record it), doing all new voices for each of the ones he tried out. It was ... I dunno ... it was one of those experiences I will remember until I die.
Is there such a thing?

So you met Bibo (as we called him here) and Oscar? That is something to be remembered indeed.
