RIP Robbie Coltrane

This is definitely one gone too soon - he was 72. The news reports aren't giving a cause of death - I don't know if that will come out later. But a great loss.

He was of course a great Hagrid, but Cracker was another great performance. One episode in particular stands out for me - and I apologise in advance to Heid for what I know he will consider to be offensive language. The suspect - played by an up and coming Robert Carlyle, also great even then - had set out to kill 96 people in vengeance for the 96 Liverpool fans who had died at Hillsborough. Interviewed by Fitz, he sought to block all questions by simply repeating a Liverpool chant: "L I V. E R P. Double O L, Liverpool FC. L I V. E R P. Double O L, Liverpool FC." Over and over again. Fitz, undeterred, carried on. Again, "L I V. E R P .." at which Fitz broke in with a South Lanarkshire roar, 'CEEEEEEEEELTIIIIIIIIIC!!!"

Gone but never forgotten.

I’ve never seen a Harry Potter film (or read a Harry Potter book), and I think my favourite of his many roles was in Blackadder. RIP.

Had to look it up. But now that I have, my most heartfelt confibularities.

His heart was in the right place despite being a Labour man.
