"God was really looking out for us."

Is it okay to kill in the name of God? Can ethics, morals and technology peacefully co-exist?

"God was really looking out for us."

I just heard the chancellor of the University of Kansas (Lawrence) being intrviewed on CNN discussing damage to the campus after last night's severe storms. When ask if there were any injuries, he replied "No, God was really looking out for us."

Yeah, okay...

Using that logic, where did the storm come from? Wal-Mart?

I'm a humanist and transhumanist, so this type of stuff annoys me. It takes away from the potential and abilities of the human being, and puts all of them in the hands of an unseen power. Kinda takes away from the splendor that is the human being.

Yep, if they all got haircuts and jobs they would probably never have severe storms. Just medium large storms with aemi-severe thunder harmlessly striking the appropriate lightning rod.

Huh, Teri, I'd thought you'd defend the side of the religious on this one. :)

I keep telling you, I'm not religious I believe in God. God has a great sense of humour so I'm for whatever is funny. I am a Gnostic believer, Wulfie, I believe knowledge of God comes from within. I commune with others of my same design in the Egregore sense of communication. The only church I attend is the Celestial Sanctum, which is gained through visualization and meditation. Its very enlightening, and a quite surprising sometimes. Its hard to explain, suffice to say I'm a true believer.
