Probing Uranus

Is it okay to kill in the name of God? Can ethics, morals and technology peacefully co-exist?

Everyone was excited about the methane discovered on Mars, but everyone knew about the methane of Uranius for years.

Nuclear testing?

Are you sure Uranus can't handle something much bigger?

You seem to be an expert on how much Uranus can handle.

Shhh! I thought we were keeping that quiet. I mean, now everyone is going to wonder how you would know that...

Holy smokes. A little decorum, here. We are talking about astronomy!

Well at least, no one mentioned the rings around Uranus. Oops

That was a new, blue ring.

The Rings of Uranus and Neptune
Uranus' rings were discovered in 1977 from measuring the intensity of light from a star as Uranus passed in front of it

I still remember the glee of radio news announcers (who were considerably more constrained then in what they could say) announcing that rings had been found around Uranus. (and of course they pronounced it ur-ay-nus)

30 years was a lucky shot. I actually thought it was Pioneer that discovered them. Probably the first to image them. Too lazy to Google further.

Some psychologists take the need to make jokes about sexuality or any such "not for polite company" issues to give away the deeply repressed characters. Your-ay-nus jokes being the flipside of nipplegate, "revealing" clothes on airplanes, needing to give your four-year-old daughter a two-part bikini etc.

Now, where ya'll from?

KLA2, by 2006 I was referring to the fact that you were responding to a post from a year ago. Not referring to anything astronomical.

What does the U.S.S. Enterprise and toilet paper have in common?
They both go around Uranus and wipe out Klingons.
I know, old joke.

Enzo  Perhaps a little too concise? For me?

Superluminal

Will try to only post sober in the future.

Apologies continued on another thread …
