Ottawa is about an hour or so away. Cyndi and I just mentioned last week that we want to go to Starved Rock before it gets too cold. We were there once a couple of years ago.

I'll see if I can get a monster for you, okay?

On reading the thread title, I was expecting a cryptid made of linoleum. :D

If yall go hiking, get a good solid stick a beat on a tree every now and then. If there is a BF in the area it will answer back by beating on a tree. Or at least that's what the BF researchers claim.

Rocky Canyon? Was that Steve's brother? Or maybe one of Hopalong Cassidy's sidekicks?

I learned about Hopalong Cassidy on the Saturday evening programming from WBBM in Chicago. But now I'm in exile :(

Hoppy was a personal favorite when I was a kid. He was a good guy, but he always had a gang. I wanted to have a gang when I grew up.

Of course I also thought Pat Butram was pretty cool driving around in Nellie Bell - the Jeep. Different show.

I liked that last poster in the "Replies", no matter what was said about Bigfoot by that one poster he/she had a response. I don't know why, but I was getting this sneaky suspicion that he/she was a True Bigfoot Believer. I don't know, it was just this feeling I got while I was reading he/she reply.

No one wants to risk his/her time/tenure on these issues.

And after they have tenure? What reason then?

I like this line of reasoning. It seems like it would work on anything at all. . .

Lance, if you and Cyndi do go hiking, maybe it would be a good idea not to go around beating on trees. I can just see this happening: You beat on a tree as a joke telling Cyndi your trying to signal a BF. A couple of hundred yards away are a couple of BF researchers. They hear the beating, grab their video camera and take off running in your direction. You and Cyndi hear them coming and wrongly conclude its really BF, and run screaming from the woods.

So be carefull out there.

I often feel like I've been beaten with a stick in the evenings lately. I thought it was from my new-found routines of walking, bike riding and weight training. Maybe I've just been a Bigfoot research test subject. I'm not all that hairy but I am kind of big.
