Joint Utilities Location Information Exchange

If you are going to excavate on your property, even so much as to install a new mailbox, you _MUST_ call J.U.L.I.E. to locate burried utility lines before digging so you don't accidently hit them. This covers gas, electric, cable, phone and so forth.

So I did. Got everything marked so we could lay some new drain tile.

The phone company missed the mark by about 12 feet. Phone drop cut, no phone, no DLS, so no IRU.

:(

There is a new temporary drop in place for now. At some unknown time within the next 2-3 months they will come and bury a new drop. We'll be down then, too, but it shouldn't take long.

Yeah, we're good. They're fine with getting everything fixed. It was just a real pain in the ass that they were so inaccurate to start with. What's the point?

OH come ON, isn't it obvious? They dig up your phone lines "by mistake." Then they get an opportunity to replace your wiring, and attach a wiretapping device in the process so they can spy on the IRU. It interferes with the syntax.
