I just wanted to let you all know that I have received and accepted the following offer:

The EZ Post Corporation wrote:The EZ Post Corporation, creator of the award-winning automatic posting program, Khrushchev's Other Shoe, is pleased to announce a new, significantly upgraded product. The new version of the automatic posting program is called Мастер, but will appear as Mactep on forums that do not support Unicode in the username field.

In addition to fixing a number of bugs and correcting some other issues in the Khrushchev's Other Shoe version of the program, Мастер includes a rich set of new and upgraded features, including adaptive sarcasm detection and filtering, expanded music trivia capabilities, and a completely redesigned humor module.

As a holder of a current license of Khrushchev's Other Shoe, you are entitled to an upgrade to Мастер and 90 days of installation/technical support, free of charge.

We at the EZ Post Corporation hope you enjoy reading the posts generated by the new Мастер software. As always, report any problems to our technical support hotline.

Let me know if you have any trouble with this new version.

Does Mactep come with the updated Slay-V utility?

Let's hope this one knows something about sports . . .

Are you discontinuing support for the previous version? Because, frankly, I think if it isn't broken, it shouldn't be fixed. So there. And I liked the humor module just the way it was.

I didn't buy the sports pack. It was far too expensive for what you get.

The two versions can't be installed at the same time. Sorry.

And I'm a little surprised you like the old one that much. I thought it was getting quite worn out. Had it not been for this free upgrade I would have probably just discarded it.

I shall miss the inherent cleverness in the name Khrushchev's Other Shoe. {Sigh}. Khrushchev's Other Shoe is dead, long live Mactep.

Perhaps someone could tell us the keyboard key combo to create the ? Cyrillic ? character that replaces the "t" used. Or just post the word so it can be saved, copied and pasted.

Or, we could just call him "Mac" until he gets annoyed and goes back to "Khrushchev's Other Shoe". :P

:)

I'm not sure that many people got it. But probably, fewer still will get Mactep :P

The Мастер won the lottery. Finding himself freed from the need to work for living, he threw himself into his literary project, which was the true story of Pontius Pilate and Jeshua ha-Nozri. (Needless to say, his version is somewhat different from the more familiar versions by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.) However, his book was condemned by the Soviet authorities, and this drove the Мастер to madness. Destroying his manuscript and abandoning his beloved Margarita, he ends up in an asylum, where, his name being forgotten, he is known simply as Мастер (Master). But things begin to change when the mysterious foreign professor visits Moscow...

So, the short version is, the Мастер is some guy in a lunatic asylum, who is called the Мастер because nobody knows his real name.

I don't know how to type it, it is copied from somewhere else. Here it is:

Мастер

Note that all the characters are Cyrillic, and perhaps slightly different than their counterparts from Latin fonts...

For those who might not be aware, the pronunciation of Мастер is "Master."

So what does everyone think of this new model?

I can't help but think it's been acting defective.

Should we dump it and go back to the old one?

Or should we just scrap the whole concept all together?

Since I did get the allusion of "Khrushchev's Other Shoe", but not the one of Mactep, I am all for the old version. Makes me feel feel on a par, intellectually. Helps my inferiority complex.

And "comrade footwar" is an all time gem of the board, so we eould be able to keep that, too.

what if there is one of those MS easter egg things in the KOS and Mactep software where by if you type "Karma Karma Karma Karma
Karma Chameleon", you can take over the whole board, well at moderator level?
